Discovering vintage fabrics and handcrafted ceramics in the creative shops at Wells Craft Quarter
I’ve just discovered Wells Craft Quarter! This group of vibrant, creative shops have gathered together and breathed exciting new life into the area just off Market Street.
A gorgeous treasure trove of fabrics, buttons and ribbons can be found at Sew Vintage. Jules the owner is delightful and runs a sewing and knitting parlour where you can acquire new skills and rediscover some of those long forgotten. Close by is High Wire – a gem of a gift shop tucked away down a little alley. Owner Sara makes exquisite wire chandeliers and sells an eclectic range of new and re-found items. You’ll also find Just Make, a small craft shop and workshop studio selling beautifully handcrafted ceramic pieces and jewellery. There’s a great fruit and veg stall on the corner and it’s rumoured a teashop will opening soon too, just to complete a well worthwhile visit to the ‘craft quarter’.
